My Karate Kid...

June 16, 2008 / by southwesterngrad

For quite some time now Big Sissy has been bugging her mom to let her take karate. So Holly finally acquiesced, enrolling her in classes about six months ago.

Well, last Saturday, her club participated in a tournament with two other karate schools--her first tournament.

Lo and behold, she won first in her division! She was so excited.

She's on the far left. She had to call me as soon as she got home to tell me. But, then, I would expect no less of my granddaughter!!!

Oh, my, there certainly is a variety of talent in that little girl!  I know you would love her no less if her talents were less or in different areas, but she sure knows how to make her grandma proud!  What a great accomplishment in karate...something that doesn't hurt for all girls/women to know...and look how creative and well done that cake is!

Yes, I would love her no matter what! But I agree.  Karate is something that it certainly never hurts for any girl/woman to know.  And she seems really to be enjoying it.  As for the cake, Holly and Bevan like to do things like cake decorating and fixing gourmet meals.  Me,  I'm more of a "just get something on the table" type of person.  I don't really have the patience to spend all day on a cake.
